Tanzania boasts a number of famous names including Mt. Kilimanjaro which is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the largest extinct volcanoes. The mountain is popular among climbing and active adventure enthusiasts. There are no limitations as any physically fit person can climb it and there is no any climbing experience is necessary. The mountain climb can be in any month except during long rains in April and May. The best months are January to March and August to October usually with cloudless days. Day 1: Pick either from the hotel/home/Airport/bus stations/shuttle stations and transfer straight to Fortune Mountain Resort for your overnight on full board basis. Depend on the time of your arrival this day can be used as an acclimatization day. The trek might be extended on Request should you need two full days acclimatizing.
Day 2: Breakfast at the Resort while porters and guide will be loading / packing their camping equipments, gears, meals etc., your driver will drive you the main entrance gate of park ready to begin your climb through fascinating rain forests till your reach the Mandara Hut (9000ft). Overnight at Mandara Hut on full board basis. DAY 3: This is the day of following the ascend path of the Mountain Kilimanjaro through the alpine. Slowly they altitude begins to change and you will have to slowdown while enjoying the flora with the view of Mawezi and Kibo peaks. You will arrive at 12,520ft Horombo Hut 12km from Mandara Huts where it will be your overnight point on full board basis.
Day 4: After breakfast, resume the climb, the landscape becomes rugged and rocky. Proceed with the climb and you will reach at Kibo Hut (15520ft). Overnight here will be on full board basis.
DAY 5: The beginning of the last ascent is made in the hours of the early morning while the screen is still frozen. Climb the very steep part of the route to Gilman's Point (most difficult and tiring part). Uhuru Peak is reached within an hour's walk along the crater rim. (19,344ft). DAY 6: Return back to Fortune Mountain Resorts to get fresh shower with a very cold drink for congratulating yourself. End of the climb
